Christians for Education (C4E) aims to support the work of schools and colleges in the Prestatyn to Rhos-on-Sea area through the local church community. We aim to link local Christians and existing faith organisations with educational establishments to further the work of the schools and colleges in areas such as the spiritual, moral, social and cultural dimension of these learning institutions. By establishing a strong network of contacts, a reliable and sustainable programme will become available for primary and secondary schools and colleges to draw on. C4E will facilitate practical support, signpost available resources and offer advice as required.

C4E has its roots in an initiative that was to be known as ‘CYFF’ (Crist Ywr Fford – Christ is the Way) in support of Christian Unions in schools, a development of the existing North Wales College Project. Supporting Christian Unions remains an aspiration for C4E, but the vision has grown to embrace a more holistic support of Christian related activities at all levels. The Holistic Approach will include services such as School Assemblies, Lessons, Workshops, Church visits and support for tutors, families and individual children.

Recently retired senior leaders and other key personnel have joined the steering group of C4E. They have brought an insight into the pressurised world of school and college leadership and the need for the church community to align themselves in support of local educational settings. We may not have all the answers schools or colleges need as yet, but believe the local churches have much to offer and intend to provide a means of harnessing this potential.

We recognise the good practice that already exists within schools, colleges and their existing links with Christian faith groups, but believe there is so much more we can do together. It is an exciting time and we look forward to more and more ideas and strategies being developed and shared, to the benefit of the young people of our area and the faithful adults who work with them.
